MIDDLE OF THE MAP 2017 Fall Conference

Friday, Nov. 3th: Manuscript critiques, portfolio reviews and pitch sessions will be held Friday evening, Nov. 3, at the Embassy Suites hotel. Join other conference attendees to "mix and mingle" in a reserved area of the lobby.
Saturday, Nov. 4th: The conference runs Saturday, Nov. 4th, from 8:15 am – 5:30 pm at the BEST Conference Center, University of Kansas Edwards Campus, 12600 Quivira Road, Overland Park, KS. The event ends with a reception and book signing with our faculty.

Early bird on-line registration opens Monday, Aug. 14th, at 10 a.m. Central Standard Time. Only SCBWI members can register during the two weeks of early bird registration. General registration opens Monday, Aug. 28th. Registration closes Wednesday, Oct. 25th. No onsite registration will be available. We are unable to refund payment if you are unable to attend. SCBWI members receive a discounted price for registration and critiques/portfolio reviews.

BOOKSTORE INFORMATION:
Our Conference Bookstore will be provided by Barnes and Noble Leawood (Town Center Plaza). If you are an SCBWI member attending the conference, we will be happy to stock your book in the conference bookstore and you may participate in the book signing at the closing reception. This opportunity is available to SCBWI members only. Both PAL (traditionally published authors) and self-published authors may request one of their titles to be stocked in the bookstore.

LUNCH:
A buffet salad / sandwich lunch is included in your registration fee. There is an option to request a vegetarian meal when you register for the conference. We're sorry, but we are unable to accommodate any other special dietary requests.

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSIONS FOLLOWING THE CONFERENCE:
Conference attendees are allowed to submit one manuscript (or query for agents) to faculty members following the conference if your work fits the editor's or agent's guidelines. Note that Atheneum and Philomel are usually closed to unsolicited submissions but will accept a submission from conference attendees. Specific submission guidelines for each faculty member will be provided in your conference packet at the event.
