Every writer learns in order to hook an agent your first ten pages really need to shine. In this webinar, Savannah Brooks of The Jennifer De Chiara Literary Agency will explain what elements in chapter one grab agents’ attention and makes them want to read more. Savannah is also offering a limited number of critiques on the first 10-pages of MG and YA manuscripts.  Webinar participants will have the opportunity to submit to Savannah for a 6 months following the event.

If you can’t make the live webinar, still register. A recording of the webinar will be available to registered attendees for two months after the live event.

The webinar costs $15 for SCBWI members and $25 for non-members. Members, make sure you’re logged in to the website to get the discounted price.

About the presenter:

Savannah Brooks joined The Jennifer De Chiara team in 2018 as an associate agent after interning for a year and a half. She earned her MFA, focused in creative nonfiction, from Hamline University and her BS in marketing management from Virginia Tech. As well as agenting, she works as a teaching artist at the Loft Literary Center and is a reader for multiple literary magazines. Her own creative work has been publishing in Barely South ReviewHobartLime Hawk, and Every Writer’s Resource, among others. When not immersed in the world of words, she can be found on her motorcycle, at her MMA gym, or lounging at one of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes.
